Romney Tannehill

Romney Tannehill's passion for square dancing began as a child at the encouragement of his parents. He transitioned into calling and soon became the club caller for Ozark Whirlers in Eldon, Missouri at the age of 15. He continued to call and conduct classes, workshops, and dances in Missouri and nearby states before moving to Southern California in 1993. In late 2020, he moved back to his hometown of Eldon, Missouri. He still calls full-time and occasionally travels back to California to call. He retains his joy and enthusiasm for calling for everyone and anyone, always expressing gratitude for square dancing.

Laura McDaniel was interviewed on Spotlight Chicago, and she taught the hosts a couple calls in the first segment.  Then North Shore Squares came out and did a demo in the second segment.  Here is the link to the segment:

“Approximately 80% of US adults and adolescents do not presently accumulate sufficient physical activity for optimum health” according to the 2018 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. These guidelines, created by a committee of exercise and health experts, indicate that square dancers are getting it right!  Read the full article or better yet just go square dancing!
