An independent educator with over 20 years of experience teaching and mentoring students of all ages, Laura is dedicated to helping you learn to square dance. She particularly appreciates adult learners and the challenges they bring to learning something new. Off the dance floor, Laura teaches Spanish classes, co-organizes the winter Indoor Farmers’ Market at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evanston, volunteers with various groups, and scuba dives every chance she gets.
Kevin McDaniel
By day Kevin works in technology as systems architect for a wholesale distributor in Arlington Heights Illinois. He started square dancing in January 2018 to spend more time with his wife, who had already caught the square dancing bug hard. Now he is a plus level dancer and member of the Chicago Caller School.
Candice Hansen
Candice loves music and movement - and finds square dancing to be the perfect combination of both. A retired elementary school music teacher, Candice is eager to call on her teaching experience as she shares her love of square dance with new students. A member of
Callerlab, she also serves as the Membership Chair for North Shore Squares. When Candice isn’t dancing, you may find her quilting or planning her next travel adventure. Or, as a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, you just might find her playing her guitar at a campfire sing-a-long.
